Here’s another transcription of a beautiful, slow, ballad by the Esbjörn Svensson Trio. The song starts with a very simple and strong I – V- IV – I chord progression. This turns to a more uncertain chromatic chord progression, with a very plain, but effective melody. The piano solo sounds simple and natural, but is somewhat dense and tricky rhythmically. As with all transcriptions, the written music is only a starting point and guide. The recording should have the final say on how you should play and interpret this piece.
